Been within the marketplace for a replacement main bedroom HDTV since our 30"" HD CRT broke (yay!). Been following this model (PN50C490) since it had been announced recently. I found an excellent deal at a neighborhood B&M store the week this was released (2 free combine of 3D glasses included) for identical value as elsewhere. i have been watching this plasma for over every week, and simply love it!
We feed it HD service from DirecTV and it's beautiful. Realistic colours and extremely dark blacks, no ghosting on sports (it may be a plasma once all), and that we love the upgrade within the size (30"" to 50"") as viewed from 12-15 feet away in bed. The 2nd image quality beats the previous CRT and even our main DLP set within the family space. DirecTV incorporates a few 3D channels, thus those were demoed immediately. The X-Games replay looked awesome. i feel most sports are recorded in 720p anyway, thus there was no loss of quality on this 720p set. i used to be able to watch the soccer games this weekend in a very pseudo 3D upscale (I'm calling it two.5D). It definitely did one thing to the image, and that i liked it. It extremely added some depth that created the sport a lot of enjoyable to observe. virtually pretty much as good as a correct 3D broadcast or really being there in the flesh, however given the miscroscopic little bit of 3D programming obtainable, the 2.5D conversion was pretty spectacular and worked on demand.
No eye strain noticed when carrying the glasses as i used to be able to watch three hours of soccer
